Brazil 2010

Dates: July 8-17 Tasks: Our church will partner with First Baptist Church of Niteroi once again to lead Vacation Bible Schools, neighborhood outreach and evangelism, and men’s and women’s ministries.  We will be working in two Brazilian communities:Itaipuacu and Coroa Grande.  The Itaipuacu team will stay in Niteroi for the duration of the trip while the Coroa Grande team will lodge in that community (located 30 miles south of Rio) from Sunday – Thursday. Our church completed a five year partnership with First Baptist Church of Niteroi in 2007.  During that partnership over 90 different people from our church went to Brazil.  Jeff Raines, Shane Tyree, and Robby Barrett traveled to Niteroi in March, 2009, to explore future mission possibilities.  Our Brazilian brothers and sisters welcome us back with open arms! Our ministry in Itaipuacu will be alongside Pastor Saulo and his wife, Monica.  Robby Barrett will be the team leader for this endeavor.  The church meets in a large house but has already secured land and plans to build a new facility.  In Itaipuacu the sand is white, the church is growing, and people’s hearts are ripe for the gospel! Shane Tyree will lead a group to Coroa Grande to work with another mission congregation of FBC Niteroi.  The storefront church at Coroa Grande, located about 30 miles south of Rio, is only a year or so old.  This area, poised for significant growth and development, is a strategic location for gospel work.
