Church is not something we go to -it's something we are...together. The desire of First Baptist is that every member would recognize themselves as gifted and growing disciples of Christ. Our lives are an adventure, following in the footsteps of our Lord. We desire that all First Baptist members engage in commitment to Christ and commitment to this community and family of faith. We have captured the essence of discipleship as it rotates around three imperatives: seek Him, serve Him, and share Him.
Why Men's Advance?
Every day, the definition of what is a “man” changes. We’re bombarded with confused ideas for success, relationships, and fulfillment. It’s hard to be a man, now, more than ever. So what is a true “man?”
Men’s Advance was generated from the idea that men need to return to the biblical definition of manhood. Not success, or money, or things; but what God calls us to be: men advancing in our faith, in our walk with Christ, in our family and relationships and in our deepest, darkest places.

Our Philosophy
Christ is the only man that can truly transform us into men and so our reflection should be Christ glorified! This is why Men’s Advance exists—to build Godly men. Men’s Advance provides a place for mentorship, for wisdom, and for accountability - steel for us to sharpen ourselves upon.
“You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another.
just as water mirrors your face, so your face mirrors your heart.”
Proverbs 27:17 & 19

But I hate accountability!
We know, the word accountability
usually scares men. Life is hard to live these days, especially if you know that someone is going to keep you accountable for your actions. But God is always with us! He desires that we grow in our faith in Him and in our relationships with other men!
Accountability is having a man in the foxhole of life with you - someone that can hold you accountable by being able to ask you those difficult questions. Small groups are always running and are being formed every few months so take this opportunity to get involved.
