She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins
Using your lists from yesterday's devotional, talk as a family about the major differences between the world's view of Christmas and Christians' view of Christmas. Some parts of the world's view of Christmas are good and fun! It's exciting to hang lights, decorate Christmas trees, and sing songs about Rudolph and Frosty...but for each conversation we have about secular Christmas figures, we must have all the more conversations about Jesus' birth. For us to truly serve the Christmas of the Bible, our conversations must not be peppered with Jesus' name, but rather saturated with His name, message, and hope.
"The Advent season is a time to look forward to the celebration of Christ's birth. The Messiah came for everyone, but Christmas belongsto those who belong to Jesus."
