Jordan Sutton- 11th grade- Tascosa High SchoolA great sunshine peeked through the clouds Monday and Tuesday, however that was not the same case when we woke up Wednesday. It rained all morning so our house project was limited, however just like every time something comes up Bradley and LJ use both of their heads to figure out something different for us to do. We went back to the church and helped clean up rooms so they could paint over them. I’m in the Judson group which has 140 kids and 19 group members. Today I helped with the memory verse and music, which turned out to be a great way of showing off my goofy side. Communicating with kids is one of my strong points so I was very intrigued to sing and play with them. Tonight we went back to FBC Shreveport and combined FBC’s Wednesday NightYouth Group and our Primetime to make PrimeGroup. We did a joint dodgeball game and did worship at the church. It was a great time of fellowship with fellow Christians.
Today was a great day! We had bible school at Palomas, Mulato and the secondary school. In the afternoon we helped with VBS at Bethel. We had good numbers and a youth class that consisted of 16 students! God is good!
Another great day today! We had some smaller numbers than we expected, but today was a holiday. We were able to start Bible school and we met some people from a previous year (1997!) who had started a house church! God is moving!Joel
We (Grace-Ann Combs, Maggie Bedwell, Georgia Riley and Gabby Douthitt) and the rest of the group spent the morning at FBC Shreveport. Dr. Raines preached on church unity and using the gifts God gives us to work as a whole body. After the service, we went to the fellowship hall and ate homemade Louisiana gumbo. After lunch, each group went on their own to their worksites and schools to pray for the week. We spent the evening at the Boardwalk and ended the night with some awesome worship and a devotion. Most of the day was spent preparing our hearts for the service we do this week and focusing on working as a whole. Bradley
Had a great day! Reed gave his message this morning in Ojinaga and it went cry well. We spent time with the church, the kids and even more time hanging out in the border patrol line! After lunch, Lee gave message at La Hermosa. God is good and we are ready to start Bible school!
Good morning! Today's Big Picture Question is, "What did Jesus tell His disciples about the bread and cup at supper?" Jesus said to eat the Lord's Supper to remember Him. When was the first time you saw others taking the Lord's Supper? Were you curious about what the crackers and juice were for? Talk as a family about what the Lord's Supper means and how Jesus explained it (Matthew 26:17-30; Mark 14:12-26; Luke 22:7-23). As Easter approaches, watch for opportunities to share the hope of Christ's resurrection with your family. Pray together with your family, thanking God for sending His Son to die for our sins.
An update from our College Group and their mission to Mexico: We've arrived, unpacked and eaten! The ride was smooth. God blessed us with safe travels. We did have a flat tire, but only after we had pulled into La Hermosa Church. Tomorrow we will cross the border and attend church at Bethel. Thank you for your prayers!
