"People like to try to guess about babies even before they are born--boy or girl, shy or rambunctious, athletic or artful. But, of course, we don't know what a baby will be like until he or she is here. While there were certainly many things Mary and Joseph did not know about the baby Mary was carrying, the angel Gabriel told them some amazing things about Him...The angel said that Jesus would be 'very great.' Who do you think is great? Whoever it is, Jesus is greater. All the smartest people of our day would have to sit at the feet of Jesus to learn from Him. All the bravest military men of our day would want to follow behind Him... The angel said that Jesus would be the Son of the Most High God. This child would not be an ordinary person, but the one and only Son of God."(Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room) Take turns completing the sentence, "God is bigger than..." and "God is greater than..." Whatever situations we are facing, God is in control--He is big enough to handle it--we just have to trust Him! This Christmas, many families are facing hard struggles. How can your family show them the hope that our big God can give them? Name one or two families who you could reach out to this week. Pray together for those families, and ask God to give you opportunities this week to share His love with them.
