Good morning! Today, 1st-5th graders learned about "Cain and Abel." As a family, talk about why God accepted only Abel's offering (Hint: Genesis 4:1-16, 35-36). When was a time you didn't give God the very best that you had? When was a time when your relationship with God came in 2nd place behind something you thought was more important? God deserves the very best that we have---no matter how much or how little we have. As a family, brainstorm ways that you can keep God first this week. Write down those ideas and put them in a place where you can see them. Pray together, asking God to help you focus on Him this week no matter what else is going on.
Good morning! Today, 1st-5th graders learned that "Sin Entered the World" What is sin? Sin is breaking God's law, and sin separates people from God. Talk as a family about this morning's story (hint: Genesis 3:1-24). Who in the story was separated from God because of their sin? When was a time you sinned? We serve a loving God who is eager to forgive us--all we have to do is ask! Pray together, thanking God for loving us and asking Him to forgive us for doing things our way instead of His way.
Good morning! Today, 1st-5th graders lesson was "God Created People." They learned that God created us in His own image. What does it mean to be created in God's image? How does knowing that God created us to reflect His love change the way we live our lives? As a family, talk about ways we can glorify God with our lives. Pray together, thanking God for creating each of us to be uniquely and perfectly created in His image.
Good morning! Over the past 3 years, our 1st-5th grade Sunday School classes have been using the Gospel Project curriculum. We've spent the last 3 years going through the Bible chronologically--all the way from Genesis to Revelation. Today, we are starting a new cycle of the Gospel Project and are going back to Genesis! Your child should bring home a Family Connection Card this morning--use these to continue Sunday School conversations at home throughout the week.Today's Big Picture Question is, "Why did God create the world?" Talk as a family about how you can be ready to share your faith with others, and practice telling your testimony one at a time. Pray together, asking God to help you trust in His timing and to give you the courage to be bold with your faith this week.

Team Triage came back from lunch with full bellies and optimistic attitudes. We were so excited that we were able to see all of the morning patients before lunch (around 200!!!!!). We came back to the church where we were stationed, and to our surprise, the church was full. Not only was every seat taken, but more chairs were put out for the families sitting in the back hoping to be seen. So many people. So much noise. So much to do. In one instant we went from optimistic attitudes to overwhelming fear. How were we going to see all of these people this afternoon? We were on sensory overload- the noise of hundreds of people in a small church, the smell of an un-airconditioned building and our smelly clothes, the sight of families waiting to be seen by the doctors. It was all overwhelming. ...
