This morning in Sunday School, children learned that "I Can Know And Follow God's Plan For My Life." As a family, read Psalm 32:8--let each family member talk about what he/she thinks this verse means. We serve a God who has great plans for us! Spend time praying together as a family; ask God to give your family the courage to put full faith in God's plan, and thank Him for being a God who will never let us down. [more]

Text:  Luke 6:27-36

"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. "Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either. "Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. "Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. "If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. "If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount. God teaches us in many different ways--what a blessing to know that He can still use our disobedience to bring us closer to Him! Talk as a family about lessons you've learned from being disobedient, and thank God for His promise to be faithful to us no matter what! [more]

This morning in Sunday School, children learned that "I Can Obey God Even When It Is Difficult." Spend time as a family this week talking about Bible characters who were called by God to perform difficult tasks. What happened when they were obedient? What happened when they were disobedient? Pray together thanking God for His faithfulness to give us the strength we need to obey Him! [more]

We have resurrection hope.  Even through our grief in death, we have hope in the glory of the resurrection to come.

Soon afterwards He went to a city called Nain; and His disciples were going along with Him, accompanied by a large crowd. Now as He approached the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a sizeable crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He felt compassion for her, and said to her, "Do not weep." And He came up and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise!" The dead man sat up and began to speak. And Jesus gave him back to his mother. Fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying, "A great prophet has arisen among us!" and, "God has visited His people!"
