One of the heartbeats of this amazing church is its love and desire for people and missions. There are many mission opportunities throughout the year that our college students have the option of participating in. In the past years we have students going to Brazil, Kenya, Russia, this year Mexico and Hungary. We also have many missions opportunities right here in Amarillo. We like working with organizations such as women and children's shelters, Habitat for Humanity, and various other city ministries. Our leadership has a passion for our lives to be on mission at all times, and they are constantly finding ways that we can reach others through Christ.
Students from The Hinge can apply to go with a small group of college-age students on our annual trip to Gyor, Hungary. Our purpose is to assist missionaries as they take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Hungarian college students. By inviting students to English-speaking Bible studies, many are introduced to the Bible for the first time. The missionaries in Gyor have led many Hungarians to faith in Jesus, and the privilege to work alongside them is life-changing for our students. New believers are baptized in a hotel swimming pool. The whole structure of the Hungarian work feels like New Testament early church, and it became the model for our Hinge House Church. It's exciting to be a part of the work in Hungary!
