Childcare and Sunday School for Preschoolers
At First Baptist it is our goal to provide the best possible care for children while helping them to grow in relationships with others and God.
What time?
On Sunday mornings, we provide Extended Teaching Care for children birth through 4 years of age while their parents are in worship.
What do I bring?
Only children still requiring the use of a diaper bag for essentials should bring anything to child care or Sunday School. When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items:
1. Clearly label each item in the bag with the child's name
2. A change of clothes
3. Disposable diapers/training pants
4. Wipes
5. Pacifiers
6. Bottle or juice cup
Where do I go?
Please come by the Welcome Area on the 2nd floor, northwest hall at the big desk, before bringing your child to a classroom. Personnel at the desk will be happy to assist you in finding the proper room for your child.
What can I expect when leaving my child?
For the safety of the children, only preschoolers and teachers are allowed in individual department rooms. A teacher will greet you at the door to take your child. If the door is closed, please knock and wait for the teacher. When leaving the child, please sign in on the sheet posted by the door. Be sure to check the appropriate activity your child is attending and write down the classroom/phone number where you can be reached. Your preschooler will be issued a numbered security bracelet. The parent or guardian will take a ticket with a matching number.
Once you have completed saying "good-bye" to your child and assuring them you will return soon, please let the teacher take them to their classroom. If your child is having a difficult transition, please leave the room. Most children calm down once activities begin. If your child continues to be upset, we will come and get you.
What can I expect when picking up my child?
Please present your numbered ticket when picking up your child. For security and safety reasons, we request that parents pick up their children unless other arrangements have been made. Please do not send older siblings to pick them up.
